Now, if that was on your computer you’d likely go into the recycle bin and restore the photo you’d just deleted in error.

Unfortunately, you can’t normally do the same on your digital camera. So does that mean that your precious photo is lost forever?

Fortunately, the answer is “no”.

But you need to be careful. The memory card in your camera is quite a lot like the system on your PC’s disk drive. The available files in the menu are ones that you haven’t deleted. But the filing system hasn’t actually scrubbed all the data that makes up the photo. Instead, it’s just given itself a note that the space is available to be used again.

Which means if you’ve deleted a photo in error, stop doing anything with your camera before you’ve done your best to retrieve your lost work of art.

·        Bagpipes were originally made out of bog oak. Bog oak would have been buried deep in peat bogs, and the wood is hardened and preserved for up to thousands of years due to the bog conditions.

Trouble Shooting Kinnaird Drone Reeds

We get calls and emails regularly from people who need help with the Kinnaird Drone Reeds. This article addresses some of the most commonly asked questions.

1. Double Toning- The reed is not getting enough air pressure. The most likely reason is that the reed is set up too strong. Move the bridle towards the vibrating end of the reed to make it easier. Another issue may be air restriction to the stock. There may be a build up of seasoning in the bottom of the stock or a drone valve or enhancer may be too restrictive. Remove the valve or enhancer to see if it solves the problem. Check their instructions to adjust them so that they take less pressure to open. Canister systems can also cause restrictions. Check that all hoses are not kinked or leaking and that the canister is not too close to the bag restricting airflow.

2. Squealing- The reed tongue could be too short. Lengthening the tongue should fix it. If not, there may be some debris underneath the tongue. Clean under the tongue by inserting a dollar bill or business card under the tongue and dragging it out the side, while applying gentle pressure to the top of the tongue. You can also remove the tongue and clean the tongue and bed of the reed with warm soapy water.

3. Drones Shutting Off- Often the reeds are set up too easy or there is excess moisture. If the reeds are too easy, move the bridle away from the vibrating end of the tongue to make them stronger. If the reed is fine when you start, but shuts down after playing for a while, it is likely a moisture issue. Insert a dollar bill or business card underneath the tongue to absorb some of the moisture. You can also remove the nose cone and put a pipe cleaner up the bore of the reed & in the end of the nose cone. Dry out the bores with a cotton brush. Moisture control systems are great solutions and come in a variety of styles.

1.  A gambling system

No matter what your game, a gambling system is being marketed to turn you into a winner.Unfortunately the vast majority of them are built on empty promises and do not work.

For those of you still with me, what do I mean by the right mindset? 

Well, for starters, don’t see yourself as a gambler.  Gambling implies relying on luck to either win big or lose big.  See yourself as an investor.  You invest your time and money (bankroll) to make a profit. 

Believe in your system.This shows the importance of following a reliable and proven system.  You need to be sure that although a session might end in a loss, you will recoup the loss in the next few sessions.

Let us look at an example:  In your first session you make a profit of $100.  In your second session you make a loss of $200.  So your net loss will be $100. 

At this point many people quit and whinge about the system not working as it is supposed to.  What they don’t realise is that the next three or four sessions might net them $400 profit.  So not only do they lose a system that might make them consistent profits, but they lose $100 as well!

Calculate your winnings and losses in units.  Why?  Well, if you play with $1 chips, then wagering two or three chips (units) is not a big deal.  What about playing with $20 chips?  All of a sudden you are wagering $40-$60 on a single play.  Your mind tells you that you are staking a lot of money, which in turn causes you to have doubts about your system.  This is where people start to play too carefully and not follow their system.  End result: they lose the money.  If your system worked with $1 chips, there is no reason for it not to work with $20 chips.  Remember to always wager amounts supported by your bankroll. 

3.  Casino bonuses

The last weapon in your arsenal is casino bonuses.  What a great way of making money by using the casinos’ money against them!  Obviously there are a lot of requirements associated with this.  I mean, why would the casino give you free money?  Discussing these requirements would be and article or two on its own!
