Whaler at Heart
My college roommate who is a marine biologist invited me to join her in one of their WWF projects. She showed me some videos of what it is like in the wild and the way she recounts her stories about whales and dolphins amazed me. I would really love to come along but my apprehensions seem too high for me to conquer. I’m not a strong swimmer and I have not tried scuba diving. Despite of that, I still enrolled in intro diving. With each session, I gained confidence little by little. When my program was over, we did a real dive at a hundred feet. The underwater was wonderful. It was more magnificent than I imagined. I’m really glad I didn’t let my fear get the best of me. Now, I’m really looking forward to see a whale give birth in August.
