Ultimate Zip-line Adventure

Watching Jane swinging along with Tarzan across treetops made me applaud her for the courage she has mustered in doing it. The thought of dangling at such a height and taking a swing from one tree to another was totally unheard of for me. I must admit my toes will definitely curl up when it comes to daring adventures. Call me a coward but I’ll certainly not give in to your taunting just to uplift my pride.

So when my group of friends decided that we should try the zip line, I vehemently disagreed to the idea. Apprehensions were sneaking to my mind. What if the harness will give way and I would fall? What if a tree branch would smack while I swing? The list of what ifs was long enough to make a bridge over the Pacific Ocean.

Despite how violently I opposed my friends won by a majority vote and the trip was pushed through. Left without a choice, I went with them to the adventure but I have formulated schemes in mind how to evade the ultimate activity. I already had my mind set that no matter what happens I won’t try out the zip line.

Upon our arrival at the outland, we were greeted by a friendly staff and were led to our respective cabins. The place was just like a mini forest with a few developments on the right areas and complete with the necessary amenities. We were also served with sumptuous meals that somehow made me forget why I was there in the first place.

Zipping Away

Just as everything seemed to be perfect, the day of reckoning came. Suddenly, I found myself standing in line while our tour guide asked who wants to go first through the zip line. Ironically, even my so called brave friends seem to be having second thoughts. It looks like all of us are not capable of moving and nobody could comprehend a single word. A few minutes were wasted while we point fingers on who should go first. It appears that we would take forever trying to decide our line-up so we decided that it should be done in alphabetical order.

Finally, it was my turn to zip. As the attendant hollered “Zip away!” leaped from the platform and catapulted across the foliage. Being airborne was so exhilarating. I just experienced being dangled at 40 feet above the ground while holding on to dear life. As I reached the end platform, I was already grinning from ear to ear. It was such an accomplishment for me. I couldn’t believe that despite my fear I did it anyway.
